Opportunity:

Advanced Practice - Physician Assistant - Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery, Nurse Practitioner - Cardiovascular Surgery

Job Details:

  • Support a three-surgeon Cardiothoracic Surgery program as either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant

  • Provide first assist responsibilities including endoscopic vein harvest for bypass procedures

  • Work collaboratively with a team of two to three employed APPs supporting cardiac and thoracic surgeons

  • Primary duties include first assist coverage for surgical cases

  • Additional responsibilities may include inpatient rounding under attending surgeon direction

  • Weekday daytime coverage approximately 7:00 AM to 4:00-5:00 PM, Monday through Friday

  • Shared weekday night call coverage from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM

  • Shared weekend call coverage from Friday 5:00 PM through Monday 7:00 AM

  • Call coverage focuses on first assist support for emergency cases

  • Potential to expand to weekend inpatient rounding as program needs evolve

  • Experience with DaVinci robotic platform preferred but not required

  • Board certification required with fellowship training preferred

  • BLS certification required
