Job Description

Opportunity:

Nurse Practitioner - Family Medicine

Job Details:

  • Work Thursday through Saturday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM

  • Every other Wednesday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM shift

  • Overtime available after 80 hours every 2 weeks

  • Correctional facility setting providing healthcare services

  • Assess individuals entering the jail and provide initial treatment for acute and chronic medical needs

  • Supervise initiation of detox treatment for newly incarcerated individuals by substance use specialist nurses

  • Evaluate urgent and emergent medical issues as they arise during night shifts

  • Serve adult population (men and women) with occasional adolescent patients

  • Work as the only provider at night with nursing support in-house and physician available by telephone

  • Previous night shift experience strongly preferred

  • No call responsibilities

  • Must have active Pennsylvania license

  • 12-month assignment with immediate start preferred

  • EMR system: TechCare

    This correctional healthcare facility provides comprehensive medical services to an incarcerated population of approximately 1,750-1,800 individuals. The facility operates under a 24/7 coverage agreement and focuses on delivering quality healthcare including assessment, treatment of acute and chronic conditions, and specialized detox services. The facility maintains modern medical equipment and employs specialized nursing staff to support comprehensive patient care in a correctional environment.
