Job Description

Opportunity:

Advanced Practice - Nurse Practitioner - Pediatrics, Physician Assistant - Pediatrics, Nurse Practitioner - Pediatric, Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care

Job Details:

  • Work 14-hour shifts from 5:00 PM to 7:00 AM (7:00 PM to 7:00 AM considered for right candidate)

  • Up to 20 shifts per month available, including weekends and weeknights

  • Realistically expect 10-15 shifts per month coverage needed

  • Accept and admit patients to 8-bed pediatric unit with on-site Pediatric ED

  • Cross-cover patients on the floor and Hospital at Home as needed

  • Provide virtual ED consults to regional sites

  • Participate in Code Blue and PRRT teams with ED team

  • Average 6.5 patient encounters per shift

  • CHIPS physician back-up available by phone throughout shift

  • Private office space and call room available on unit

  • Pediatric acute care certification required (PNP-AC or CPNP-AC)

  • Must be certified to provide care from birth to age 18 years

  • Family care nurse practitioners eligible with pediatric acute care certification

  • BLS/PALS, DEA license, and NC license required

  • Hospital privileges and board certification required

  • Pediatric experience preferred

The facility emphasizes team-based care with participation in emergency response teams and virtual consultation services to regional locations.
