Opportunity:
Nurse Practitioner - Surgery Cardiothoracic
Job Details:
- Work 8-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM with weeknight beeper call coverage from 3:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Coverage needed 4 days per month with call from 3:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- See 10-15 CVICU/step-down patients per day plus assist with 1-2 surgeries daily
- Patient population includes adult and geriatric patients
- Work within the Cardiothoracic Surgery department in a hospital setting
- Use Cerner EMR system
- Facility has 199 beds
- Support staff includes a supervising surgeon
- Special procedures include temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and A-line placement
- Minimum 3 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery with proficiency in EVH required
- Board certification as a PA or Master's Degree in Nursing required
- Active Arizona license or eligibility for Arizona licensure required
- DEA license required
- ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association) certification required
- NP candidates must have completed an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program and an RN/NP First Assistant Program
- Current unrestricted Arizona APRN license required for NP candidates
