Job Details:
- Coverage needed 4 days per month, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM plus overnight call from 3:00 PM to 7:00 AM
- Weeknight beeper call shifts are 14 hours in addition to 8-hour daytime shifts
- 24-hour call shifts also required as part of coverage schedule
- Practice setting is a hospital-based environment within the Cardiothoracic Surgery department
- Work alongside a supervising surgeon supporting CVICU and step-down unit patients
- See 10 to 15 CVICU and step-down patients per day plus assist with 1 to 2 surgeries daily
- Patient population is adult and geriatric
- EMR system used is Cerner
- Hospital bed size is 199 beds
- Special procedures include temporary pacemaker removal, chest tube removal, IABP removal, and arterial line placement
- Proficiency with endoscopic vessel harvesting (EVH) is required
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cardiothoracic surgery with EVH required
- Board certification as a Physician Assistant required
- Active Arizona PA license or eligibility for Arizona licensure required
- DEA license required
- ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association) certification required
- Must be a graduate of a university program approved by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
