Physician Assistant - Specialized - 1025F Forsyth Intensivist
Job Details:
Work as an experienced Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in a multi-specialty medical-surgical community hospital ICU
Day shift, 12-hour shifts
Manage critically ill patients in a high-acuity ICU setting with a typical APP to patient ratio of 10-15 ICU patients per APP, with attending MD also available
Collaborate with attending physicians to develop plans of care and communicate dynamic changes throughout each shift
Conduct ongoing patient assessments and implement appropriate interventions
Perform order entry using Cerner EMR and complete thorough documentation including History and Physicals, Consultations, Event/Follow-up Notes, and Procedure Notes
Interpret diagnostic testing and communicate findings with ICU nursing staff
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds each shift
Perform invasive procedures including central line insertions (CVLs, vascaths, and introducers) and arterial line insertions
If NP candidate, must be Acute Care Certified
Must hold valid national and state licensure as an ACNP or PA
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) in an ICU setting required
Proficiency with ICU procedures, specifically central and arterial line insertions, is required
