Opportunity:
Nurse Practitioner - Critical Care
Job Details:
Provide locum NP coverage in an inpatient critical care/ICU setting
Day shift hours: 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM; Night shift hours: 7:00 PM to 8:00 AM
Must be able to cover at least one stint per month with scheduling worked around locum availability
Average patient census of 13 patients per day, ranging from 1 to 20 patients
Documentation completed using EPIC EMR system
APP will be working autonomously
Perform procedures including central venous lines, hemodialysis catheters, and arterial lines
Manage ventilated patients with assistance from respiratory therapists
Monitor and assist with decompensating patients
Admit new critical care patients from the emergency department, hospital floor, and surrounding hospitals
Update families and manage goals of care when patients decompensate
Patient population is adult
Board Certified NP required
Active Virginia license and DEA required
BLS/ACLS certification required
Must have critical care experience
