Opportunity:

Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Orthopedic


Job Details:

  • PRN coverage on an as-needed basis

  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule

  • Weeknight call and 24-hour weekend call required

  • Inpatient responsibilities include rounding on post-op patients, inpatient and ED consults, and OR coverage

  • Clinical, surgical, trauma, and orthopedic call responsibilities

  • Procedures include total hip, knee, and shoulder replacement, as well as hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot surgical procedures

  • Trauma injuries, fracture care, sports medicine, and other orthopedic disorder management

  • Appointment lengths range from 10 to 30 minutes depending on new consult, recheck, post-op, or procedure type

  • 2 exam rooms and 3 cast rooms per provider

  • Medical imaging, lab, and pharmacy services available on-site

  • EMR systems: GE Centricity for clinic and EPIC for hospital

  • Board Certification required (Board Eligible accepted)

  • Active Iowa license or active Compact/IMLC LOQ required

  • Clean malpractice history required

    This facility is a hub hospital serving 16 surrounding counties with a population of over 200,000 people. The organization supports an average daily hospital census of 160 patients and is affiliated with an internal medicine and family medicine residency program, as well as PA student rotations. The orthopedic practice includes a team of four physicians supported by nursing staff, cast technicians, surgery schedulers, and reception personnel, providing a well-rounded and collaborative clinical environment.
