Job Details:
13-week contract starting June 1, 2026 with options to extend
4 x 10-hour shifts per week or 3 x 12-13 hour shifts per week plus one rotating Saturday per month
Weekly availability required with no rotating weeks on/off
No call responsibilities
Work across multiple locations including main OR, outpatient surgery center, and endoscopy center
Provide anesthesia services for patients age 13 through end of life
Work within a Level 1 trauma center alongside 60 CRNAs, 70 attending anesthesiologists, and 60 anesthesia residents
Cover 33 ORs in main OR, 16 offsite anesthesia locations, 12 outpatient surgery ORs, and 3-4 stand-alone GI center rooms
Practice all CRNA scopes of practice excluding open heart/thoracic, pediatrics, obstetrics, and peripheral nerve blocks
Work with both inpatient and outpatient populations using Epic EMR system
All time off requests must be made upfront; consecutive time off exceeding 5 days will not be approved during summer months
Minimum 2 years experience required, preferably academic background and Level 1 or 2 trauma experience
Must hold valid ACLS and BLS certifications through AHA
Virginia license required; board certification required

This is a comprehensive 600-bed academic medical center operating as a Level 1 trauma center. The facility features 33 operating rooms in the main surgical suite, along with 16 offsite anesthesia locations, 12 outpatient surgery rooms, and multiple GI procedure rooms. The anesthesia department is well-staffed with a large team of CRNAs, attending physicians, and residents providing comprehensive perioperative care across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
