Job Description

Opportunity:

Advanced Practice - Nurse Practitioner - Cardiovascular Surgery, Physician Assistant - Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic Surgery

Job Details:

  • Provide nocturnal coverage of cardiothoracic and vascular surgery patients

  • Work 7 on 7 off schedule with 12-hour shifts from 6:30 PM to 6:30 AM

  • Manage vascular surgery ICU patients (co-management with critical care) and floor patients

  • Cover cardiothoracic surgery floor patients only (NO CT surgery ICU patients)

  • Handle 10-20 patient encounters per shift

  • Perform chest tube removal and chest tube management (no insertion required)

  • No surgical or operating room responsibilities

  • No call requirements

  • Must have North Carolina license and DEA (with ability to change address)

  • Board certification eligible required

  • ACLS and BLS certification required

  • Fellowship preferred

  • Minimum 3-month duration with potential for extension
