Opportunity:
Physician - Gastroenterology
Job Details:
12-month locum to permanent gastroenterology position with EMR system Meditech
Clinic hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Shared call structure with offsite coverage requiring 30-minute response time for emergency consultations and 12 hours for routine cases
Called in after hours 1-2 times per week, most commonly for active bleeding cases
Average 12-14 procedures per day with APP support provided
Perform general GI procedures including upper endoscopies (EGD) and colonoscopies
Advanced procedures required include ERCP at mid-level/moderate complexity level
Specialty procedures include esophageal and luminal stent placement, argon plasma coagulation, and various biopsies
Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic EGD, enteral alimentation, and esophageal dilation procedures
Perform foreign body removal, flexible sigmoidoscopy, and GI motility studies with 24-hour pH monitoring
Handle non-variceal hemostasis and percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) procedures
Work with non-compliant patient population in a pleasant and kind culture environment
Strong relationship building and communication skills highly preferred
