Opportunity:
Physician Assistant (PA) - Surgery - Orthopedic
Job Details:
Collaborate with attending physicians to prepare and record patient histories, develop care plans, and participate in daily rounds
Utilize electronic medical records for order entry and documentation
Participate in multidisciplinary rounding and quality/safety initiatives
Order or perform diagnostic studies including EMG, electrocardiogram, compartment pressure measurements, and x-ray examinations
Perform procedures such as digital blocks, regional anesthesia, and minor outpatient surgical procedures
Conduct diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including joint aspirations, fracture reductions, injections, and cast/splint applications
Assist in surgery as first assist, perform tissue closures, and apply appliances
Serve as primary orthopedic call for Emergency Department and inpatient units
Participate in call coverage including weekdays, weekends, and 24-hour call
Evaluate clinical conditions and implement treatment plans for hospitalized patients
Dictate discharge summaries, histories, and physical reports
Must be proficient with electronic health records
Must be able to work independently and perform effectively in stressful situations
Must be board certified with Oregon license
