Opportunity:
Nurse Practitioner - Surgery - Orthopedic
Job Details:
Collaborate with attending physicians to prepare and record patient histories, develop care plans, and participate in daily rounds
Utilize electronic medical records for order entry and documentation
Participate in multidisciplinary rounding and quality/safety initiatives
Order and perform diagnostic studies including EMG, electrocardiogram, compartment pressure measurements, and various imaging studies
Perform procedures such as digital blocks, regional anesthesia, tendon repair, wound closure, wound management, and hardware removal
Conduct joint and bursa aspirations, closed reduction of fractures and dislocations, injections, and apply braces, casts, and splints
Assist in surgery as first assistant, performing tissue closures and application of appliances
Serve as primary orthopedic call for Emergency Department and inpatient units
Participate in call coverage including weekday, weekend, and 24-hour call
Evaluate clinical conditions and implement treatment plans for hospitalized patients
Work independently and perform effectively in stressful/emergent situations
Board certification required
Oregon license required
