Opportunity:
Physician - Emergency Medicine
Job Details:
ABEM board certification required
Minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required, or family medicine with emergency medicine fellowship
All shifts are 12-hour shifts: 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM or 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM with single physician coverage
On-site coverage required including weekends and nights
No call coverage required
Coverage across multiple freestanding emergency department sites and main facility emergency department
Onboarding includes 2 hours of EMR and quality measures training plus 2-3 required shadow shifts
Case logs will need to be provided
Required procedures include intubations, central line placement, ultrasound utilization, OB deliveries, dislocation reductions, chest tube placement, trauma management, and laceration repair
Must be efficient in managing high acuity cases including STEMI, strokes, and trauma
Level IV trauma center experience required at applicable sites
Patient populations vary by site and include elderly patients, winter Texans, nursing home patients, and mixed demographics
Average daily patient census ranges from 45 to 80 patients depending on site
APP support available at all sites with varying hours of coverage per day
1 emergency medicine physician per shift at each site
1-year duration of need

The facilities include Level IV trauma centers and freestanding emergency departments, providing comprehensive emergency care services to diverse patient populations across the region. Each site is equipped with APP support staff and serves as a critical access point for emergency medical care in their respective communities.
