Physician - Emergency Medicine


Job Details:

  • Night shift position only, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM

  • Duration of need is 3 to 6 months

  • ABEM board certification strongly preferred; extensive experience required if otherwise

  • Non-EM boarded physicians who are comfortable with gynecology and pediatric patients will be considered

  • 2 shadow shifts required for orientation

  • 11-bed emergency department with a census of approximately 30 to 40 patients per day

  • Low to mid acuity cases including GI symptoms, gynecology, and pediatrics

  • Approximately 4 to 5 daily admissions with a 13% admission rate from the ED

  • Not a trauma, stroke, or cardiac center; few EMS cases

  • Patient population is young and generally healthy

  • Standard ED procedures required, primarily low to mid acuity

  • Standard ED nursing and support staff on site

  • Labor and delivery located within the hospital and separate from the ED

  • Pediatrician on shift in the ED during peak hours

  • 2 ED physicians and 1 pediatrician scheduled per shift

  • 3 to 4 open positions available
