Physician - Emergency Medicine


Job Details:

  • Emergency Medicine coverage required at a freestanding emergency department (FSED) with occasional coverage at main hospital facility

  • Duration of need is 6-12 months to start

  • Orientation consists of 2 shadow days and 1 IT day with in-house MedStaff orientation

  • Board certification preferred (IM/FP/ABEM); if not ABEM certified, minimum 2 years of emergency department experience required

  • Case logs required to demonstrate procedural proficiencies

  • FSED facility has 12 bays with low to mid acuity patient mix; main facility has 80 bays with mid to high acuity patient mix

  • Patient volume of 2-2.5 patients per hour at peak volumes

  • No trauma center designation

  • Nurse/APP triage available at main facility only; single provider coverage at FSED, multi-provider coverage at main facility

  • 12-hour shifts covering both AM and PM shifts

  • ED admission rate of 8-10% at FSED and approximately 30% at main facility

  • Normal ER support staff provided

  • 10 positions available
