Opportunity:
Physician - Emergency Medicine
Job Details:
Emergency Medicine physician needed to cover both freestanding emergency department (FSED) and main hospital emergency department on an occasional basis
FSED operates with 12 bays handling low to mid acuity patients, while main emergency department operates with 80 bays handling mid to high acuity patients
12-hour shifts required at FSED with both AM and PM shift coverage needed
Single provider coverage model at FSED; multi-provider coverage at main emergency department
Patient volume of 2 to 2.5 patients per hour at peak volumes
ED admission rate of 8-10% at FSED and approximately 30% at main emergency department
No trauma center designation at either facility
Nurse/APP triage for lower acuity patients available at main location only, not at FSED
Board certification in IM, FP, or ABEM required; non-ABEM certified providers must have a minimum of 2 years of emergency department experience
Case logs required to demonstrate procedural proficiencies
Duration of need is 6 to 12 months to start
Orientation includes 2 shadow days and 1 IT day with in-house orientation
