Opportunity:
Physician (MD) - Internal Medicine - Gastroenterology
Job Details:
- Provide locum tenens gastroenterology coverage on a Monday through Friday schedule
- Perform scheduled colonoscopies and visit inpatient consults from the night before
- Conduct additional GI lab procedures in the GI suite following scheduled procedures as needed
- See 5-7 patient encounters per shift
- Work alongside 2 NPs and 1 PA-C who will handle pre and post workups on patients needing scopes
- Board certification required; minimum certification level: Certified
- Fellowship required (3 years)
- Required certifications: ABLS, ACLS, ATLS, BLS
- Required specialty skills include:
- Upper GI endoscopy with biopsy, foreign body removal, fulguration of bleeder, and injection of varices
- ERCP - both diagnostic and therapeutic
- PEG (percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy)
- Esophageal dilatation/manometry and esophageal manometry interpretation
- Small bowel biopsy
- Lower GI endoscopy and sigmoidoscopy (flexible and rigid)
- Colonoscopy with biopsy and excision of polyp
- Endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)
- Liver biopsy
- Insertion and management of Sengstaken/Blakemore tube
