Physician - Hematology/Oncology
Job Details:
Full-time coverage needed with 5 clinic days per week
8-hour clinic shifts with a day schedule
Clinic starts at 8:00 AM with first patient scheduled at 8:15/8:30 AM and last patient scheduled at 3:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch included
Established patient panel already in place
Adult Hematology & Oncology patient population in a rural community setting
Average 15 patients per day with a 60% Hematology / 40% Oncology split
Provider expected to see solid tumor oncology, benign hematology, and malignant hematology patients
Weekend coverage: 2 weekends per month; night call: 10 days per month on a 1:2 call rotation
Call coverage includes inpatient and phone call coverage
Weeknight call runs from 4:15 PM to 8:00 AM; typically 2-3 patient calls between 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM with rare calls after 9:00 PM
Weekend call includes 24-hour coverage with 2 hours gratis rounding on Saturday and Sunday
Consulting service only; hospitalists manage admissions
14-chair infusion center onsite with a 2-bed infusion room and oncology-certified nursing staff
Radiation Oncology located onsite
Bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, port access, and BMT consults/care are not required
Practice setting includes both clinic and hospital environments
EMR system: EPIC
Support structure includes 1.3 Hem/Onc physicians onsite, 3 APPs, onsite pharmacist support, and participation in disease-specific and general tumor boards
Minimum 6-month commitment required
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Hematology/Oncology required
DEA required with a minimum of 1 year of experience
Active PA license or IMLC required
